I have last year's version of PEDS. Will it work for this year?

Due to many enhancements in the 2006 version of PEDS as well as the player database, you cannot use the version of PEDS from last year for the upcoming season. You must purchase the 2006 version. However, as a repeat customer, you receive a $5 discount (NOTE: If you purchased Fantasy Commissioner Desktop, PEDS is free).

How did you come up with the stat projections for PEDS?

We spend many hours analyzing each player to project their stats for the upcoming season. We start out by looking at the last three years worth of stats for a player, with a higher importance given to the last year. We take into account anything that may have affected his playing time during the last three years. We then take into account changes that have occurred since last season that may affect a player's stats in the upcoming year. For example: the college draft will put rookies on the team; the player may have had poor stats last year due to injuries (where he missed games or was not 100%); the player being a year older may reduce or increase his stats; trades, free agents, and retirements may alter his playing time (a starter may become a backup and visa-versa); and coaching changes may alter an offense that will give players better or worse stats. We make extensive use of each teams depth chart. We also make sure the stats for each team are balanced out (i.e. if we project a QB to have 4000 passing yards, we will make sure the receiving yards for the receivers on his team add up to around 4000 yards). These same projections are used in magazine expert polls that we are in, and are also used for the expert leagues we participate in.

I am getting GPF's (General Protection Faults) when running one of your products. What is causing this?

Some customers have been experiencing GPF's when they have First Aid or CrashGuard running at the same time that they are running one of our products. Try unloading First Aid or CrashGuard and then running our product.

Is there written documentation, or just the online help? And can the online help be printed as a manual?

In order to save costs and keep the price down, we don't send a printed user manual. However, we have a user manual for each of our products in MS Word format that you can download from our site. If you don't have MS Word, you can download a viewer. Then, you can print out the user manual. Also, the help file contains all the information found in the user manual.

I can't find the 'Reg #' button to register the software.

The "Reg #" button is available on the main menu of the software. To view this button, you must install the software and run it. You will then be presented with a screen that allows you to create a new league database. Hit the "New" button on this screen and create a new league database. Then select this new league database and hit the "Select" button. You will then see the main menu of the software which will have the "Reg #" button on the left side.

Do you have a Macintosh version of any of the products?

Sorry, the products are only available for a PC with Windows. They technically should work with the SoftWindows emulation package on a Mac (and I have heard from a few customers who have used it with no problems), but they are only supported for an IBM PC or compatible with Windows 95 or above. There aren't any plans to create a Mac version of our products at this time. You can test if the software will work by downloading one of the demos and installing it on your MAC.

How can I use PEDS on two computers and transfer the league info back-and-forth?

If you would like to use PEDS on more than one computer and transfer any league modifications back-and-forth, install PEDS on both computers. To transfer the league info back-and-forth, you must backup the league file to disk. On the computer that you wish to transfer the database from, use the "Backup" option on the "Database Maintenance" menu to backup the league file to disk. Then go to the other computer and use the "Restore" option on the "Database Maintenance" menu, specifying that you wish to restore from the disk you used to backup the league file on the other computer.

I type in the registration number, but it says it is an invalid registration number.

If the registration number does not work, check the "About" button on the main menu of PEDS. If it does not say "PEDS 2006", you likely have last seasons version of PEDS. You will need to download the latest demo to get the 2006 version, in which the registration number will work.

Can I transfer the scoring system/league info from Fantasy Commissioner to PEDS?

You can only import the league information from PEDS into Fantasy Commissioner. You can't import from Fantasy Commissioner into PEDS. This was done by design, as you enter an "approximation" of your fantasy scoring system in PEDS, where you enter your exact leagues scoring system in Fantasy Commissioner.

Can I get the software on a CD?

Sorry, because so few people request CD's anymore, we have discontinued the shipping of CD's. If your computer has problems downloading large files, we have an option to download the software in seven smaller pieces, so that should solve the problem.

When running a mock draft, I get the error "Description: No current record (#3021)"

You need to go to the Fantasy Teams screen and in the "If your league allows..." box increase the total count of all the positions to at least be equal to the number of draft rounds.

When running a draft, I get a message "Roster is full".

If you get a "Roster is full" message, this means you must go to the "Fantasy Teams" screen, and in the "If your league allows..." section, you must change the values for each position so that the total of all the positions is equal to the number of rounds in the draft.

My draft is complete, but when I run the Projected Standings Report, it shows all zeroes.

To get the Projected Standings Report to work correctly, you need to go to the "Positions" screen under the "League Maintenance" menu and enter non-zero values in the "Min # can start" column.
